How to shop seamlessly online from international stores using the Klasha App
Africa’s e-commerce market expands significantly year after year, yet consumers in Africa do not have frictionless access to the international e-commerce world. As part of our commitment to bridging the e-commerce gap between Africa and the world, we launched an in-app shopping feature of Klasha App as part of the product updates of Klasha 2.0 in PINK.
Best described as a one-cart-fits-all, users of KlashaShop, a feature of Klasha App, have access to their favourite international stores like ASOS, Zara, Amazon, Nike and H&M at their fingertips.
Users can also pay in Naira and get fast door-to-door delivery to Nigeria within 14 days while having a seamless cross-border shopping experience.
Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to use Klasha App and shop seamlessly in Africa:
Step 1: Download the Klasha App for your iOS or Android devices
First things first, you need to download the Klasha App. KlashaShop is an in-app feature of the Klasha App which is compatible with iOS and Android devices. Once you download the app, the sign-up process is straightforward.
Step 2: Fund your Klasha Wallet account
You can deposit funds into your Klasha Wallet by selecting the “Fund wallet” option on the homepage. This leads you to a page where you input the amount to be deposited and you choose your funding options: bank transfer, card payment and USSD. Card payments attract a 1.2% transaction fee, while bank transfers and USSD payments are free.
Step 3: Shop on KlashaShop
Located on the homepage as the middle button with a bag icon, KlashaShop has different stores you can visit for various products ranging from clothes to shoes to electronic items and more. When you find a product you want to buy in any of the international stores, you must add it to the “bag”, “cart”, or “checkout” of the store before moving it to KlashaShop by clicking on the “add to KlashaShop” button. On KlashaShop, the item’s description will be visible, including the quantity and amount in Naira. You can still make changes or edits at this stage before you proceed to checkout.
Step 4: Proceed to checkout
The checkout page allows you to add a shipping address if you are shopping for the first time. Your default shipping address will be auto-filled if you are a returning customer. With KlashaShop, you can input more than one shipping address. You can click “Pay with Klasha” when all this information is added, which will prompt you to input your wallet PIN. When the total shopping amount, including the item and shipping cost, is deducted, you will receive a “Transaction successful” notification in the app and a receipt mailed to your registered email address. Voila! That’s it. Once your order is received, we will keep you updated about the processing of your order via email.
As well as enabling shopping across borders, the Klasha app has other functions, which include but are not limited to:
Creating two Klasha virtual dollar cards you can fund with up to $5,000 per card and use on different platforms for online transactions.
The PINK Money feature where you can send money to friends and family with zero charges.
BaePay feature which is designed exclusively for your bae to pay and fund your wallet through our Payment Links with several paying currencies such as NGN, KES, TZS, UGX, USD, ZAR, and ZMW.
You can also buy airtime, pay for bills and online streaming services like Apple Music, Spotify and Netflix.
